Chassagne Montrachet's vineyard extends over a surface of 350 hectares, of
among which:
-Grands Crus
: 10 ha
-Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru
: 160 ha
-Chassagne Montrachet Village
: 180 ha
White wines stemming from the Chardonnay vine represent about 60 % of the
production. The rest is planted in vine Pinot Noir. On Pitiot and Poupon's card, you can
discern 3 different colours which correspond to the 3 levels of AOC existing in Chassagne
Montrachet. "Grand Crus" produce only White wines. The 2 other levels can
produce White wines and Red wines. Red and white AOC Burgundy is not coloured. |
